On top of the scanner, you will find a LED light shaped as a ring which is shining through the scanner’s surface. There are three possible light combinations which can be displayed when the scanner is stationary, and this article aims to guide you through what each of them mean.
- Normal “Breathing”/ “Pulsing” light.
When the scanner is turned on and ready to be used, you’ll see a white breathing/pulsing light. What this means in technical terms, is that the scanner is operating normally and the user interface is up and running, ready to be used with the Volumental app. If you haven’t already, we recommend reading the following guide on how to download and connect the Volumental app to the scanner: https://volumental.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004074605-How-to-install-the-Volumental-app
- Blinking yellow light
This light animation is the scanner telling you that it’s not ready to be used. This is the first light animation you’ll see when turning on the scanner, meaning, the scanner is booting up just like a normal computer would. This process usually takes in-between 30 seconds up to two minutes. Afterwards, the light will switch to the normal white breathing light and you’re ready to use the scanner.
However, if the blinking yellow light lasts longer than 2 minutes, something is preventing the scanner from booting up. A hard reboot, unplugging the scanner and waiting 30 seconds before plugging it back in, usually fixes this. If not, please reach out to email@example.com and our support team will help you. Make sure to include the scanner number of you unit, written on the back of the scanner next to the power supply.
- Green spinning light
Volumenal will send frequent updates to your scanner to make sure you have the latest features available. When the scanner is downloading and installing an update, a green spinning light will appear, indicating that the scanner is working on something. It is imperative that you do not interfere with this process, as doing so may cause the scanner to experiencing certain issues. Just let it do its thing and it will be ready for you shortly.
